Shakin' Down the Acorns
 Appalachian Music Festival
There will not be a festival for 2008 but  We will be hosting a guitar workshop with National Flatpick Champion Robin Kessinger.  July 5th at 2pm in Shreve Ohio.  Those attending the workshop may stay for a party including a concert by Robin Kessinger and a dance.
If you would like to be in the workshop please email musicfest@aol.com
Cost is $20. for adults $15 if under 18.
This festival is held near the northern boundary of traditional Appalachia, in Holmes County.  We are also in the heart of Amish country.
We are located on St RT 514 at Whispering Hills RV park.   The Campground offers full service camping, cabins, swimming and fishing.  We are just miles from Rails to Trails which offers miles of graveled and paved trail for biking, hiking, skating and horseback riding. In nearby Shreve, Millersburg, Loudenville and Wooster you will find interesting shopping, dining, canoeing, music and antique stores, and historic places to visit including Millersburg's Victorian House. In memory of Mike Lindsay who was a enthusiastic supporter of Old Time Music and Dance and this festival.  If there was music and dance, Mike was there. In the past years he taught Bodrahn workshops and played in the dance bands and contests at Shakin'  He encouraged me to keep having this festival, after our last years flood, which didn't dampen his spirit in the least.  Mike's share of the first gig Dan, Myra and I played without him is being used as part of the prize money for the contest in his memory.
