1. There is a limit of 14 acts to each of the contests in 2007.
2. Each performance will be judged on five minutes of playing but may be given more stage time if time allows..
3. The musicians must be backstage and ready to play when it is their turn. They are to start playing as soon as the sound man is ready and exit the stage quickly after playing.
4. All contestants must be backstage 30 minutes before the contest at which time the final order of play and instructions will be given.
5. The band members may speak as part of their stage presence but they are asked to remember most of the judging points will be on their music.
6. All instruments will be acoustic except the piano that will be provided.
7. Performers are encouraged to register as early as possible to guarantee ther spot and allow for better planning of the contest.
8. Individuals contestants may not compete more than twice in two differnt bands.
9. Decissions of the judges are final, score sheets are not available for viewing but you may talk with the judges for pointers and suggestions.
10. Judging for the Traditional Old Time contest will be on:
rhythm/timing,
expression
intonation
stage presence
Old Time style,
difficulty
(Old TIme style means either traditional Appalachian music or music in the Old
Time tradition.)
11. All lyrics and behavior must be appropriate for family audiences.
12. Accidents beyond the control of the contestant may result in a replay.
15. No copyrighted music unless it is your copyright.
Prize money for each catergory: 1st. $200 2nd.$100 3rd. $ 50
