A GOOD TIME AT THE BREAKFAST/POKER RUN

We are positive that almost everyone in town came pouring through the Puyallup Elks for Sunday’s Breakfast and Poker Run. We were busy! We pulled up to the Elks at about 8:00 am, thinking that we had at least a half hour to get set up. But, we already had a crowd of people waiting for us to get going.

The breakfast was hot and tasty and a lot of folks went through the line. The music sounded great, a bunch of raffle tickets were sold and the prizes went over very well.

There was an assortment of cars in the parking lot. Buicks, Chevs, early V-8s, hot rods, street rods, odds and ends of vintage cars, and of course, many Model A’s. The weather cooperated for a change – no rain, not cold and not hot. Perfect.

We were not able to get away for the Poker run, but the feedback was that it was an interesting run, the stops were adequately staffed and we didn’t make problems for the motoring public. Many said that they had a good time and are looking forward to next year.

For those of you who didn’t take in the Breakfast and Poker Run, you missed a good one. WE hope you will join us next year. For those of you who are new, remember that the proceeds go to the St Joseph Hospital Burn Center for Children. A very worthy cause. A BIG THANKS to all of you who helped out — selling raffle tickets, staffing the check points, providing security, our boss Bob Rezba and the chair persons for doing their job so well.
