Summer Meet Planned At Westville Lake

Plans are being finalized for the EOC New England Chapter Summer Bug and Humidity Festival scheduled for August 7 at Westville Lake in Southbridge MA.
Westville Lake is located off of Route 131 just east of I-84 on the west side of Southbridge, and includes picnic areas, playing fields, a boat launch, and restrooms. Dogs are allowed on a leash and there is no charge for park access, parking, boat launch or other use of the facilities.
We're looking to gather in the upper parking lot starting at 10 a.m. for a meet and greet, hiking, biking, boating, kite flying, frisbee tossing and whatever else comes to mind...plus an elegant gourmet picnic (assuming you bring something elegant and gourmet to eat). If you can't make it by ten, get there when you can. Activities will last for about 4-5 hours.
The backup date in case of rain is August 14.

Directions to Westville Lake
Find your way to I-84, Exit 3 (Sturbridge/Route 20). Head west on Route 20 (towards Sturbridge Village), turn left on to Route 131east just past the I-84 interchange. As you enter the outskirts of Southbridge, look for the Fiske Hill Mall. It's a small strip mall with a Sherwin Williams Paint Store, bank and other shops. Turn right just past the mall onto Wallace Road. The Westville Lake entrance will be on your left about a mile down the road. The upper parking lot is up the road past the restrooms and park host trailer.
From downtown Southbridge, take Main Street (Route 131) west. Just past the Notre Dame cathedral (large white building on the right) bear left at the traffic light onto South Street. Follow South Street for approximately 1.8 miles. The Westville Dam sign is not the park entrance, keep going. Look for a sign for the Southbridge Water Treatment Facility on the left side of the road. Turn right on to Breakneck Road. As you make the turn you'll see the sign for Westville Lake. The park entrance will be on the right a short distance down the road.
