The National Flood Insurance Program School of Continuing Education is licensed in ALL 50 STATES so we can offer the Flood/FIA course as an internet course. It's the same course information that you would receive if you attended a seminar in person, with the same credits earned, but you can complete it in your own time frame and at your own leisure. On September 1, 2005, FEMA published a notice to all insurance agents who sell flood insurance policies through the NFIP, of training and education requirements as required by Section 207 of the Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2004.
State Departments of Insurance are taking various actions to establish training requirements in their states. The NFIP encourages states to implement minimum training in NFIP flood insurance as part of their general licensing standards and to assist states in improving their training and testing of agents on flood insurance matters.
