April 14, 2006:

Steely Dan's Walter Becker and Donald Fagen have announced that they will be teaming up with Doobie Brothers/Steely Dan alumni Michael McDonald for a summer tour. McDonald participated on such classic Steely Dan recordings as Katy Lied (1975), The Royal Scam (1976), Aja (1977), and Gaucho (1980). The tour is slated to begin in early July and run through early September. Becker is working on the follow-up to his first solo effort, 11 Tracks of Whack (1994), with Fagen having just completed his first-ever solo tour in support of his third solo effort -- and first in thirteen years -- Morph the Cat, which has received good critical response. Tour dates can be found at www.steelydan.com or www.michaelmcdonald.com.
