This is a story about my son’s birth. Giving birth to your children is supposed to be the most wonderful times in your life. But not everything happens in a perfect world.
My son is a SURVIVOR!! He survived one of the most horrific types of birth that one could have. He survived a Uterine Rupture. A uterine rupture is when the uterus tears. It most commonly occurs when a women has had a previous C-section or uterine surgery or any other uterine scarring (previous forceps or vacuum delivery.
Another factor is when pitocin is administered during labor. Pitocin over stimulates the uterus and therefore can cause a rupture to occur! Manufacturers of Pitocin even provide a warning label with the drug that it is NOT to be used on patient’s who are attempting a VBAC!!
Please read our story and educate yourself on the risks associated with a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean).
Please visit some of our links as they will lead you to other VBAC and uterine rupture sites. Uterine Rupture is real and it can happen to you!! Don’t let your Dr. tell you that it can not. Uterine rupture is NOT RARE it is happening more frequently as HMO’s push for a lower Cesarean Rate!!
Just some thoughts:
I almost died the other day,
It was in such an unusual way.
I was trying to give birth to my son
A day that was supposed to be a happy one.
The Lord decided not to take my life,
And so, my husband gets to keep his wife.
My eldest son gets to keeep his mom,
And our family continues on.
My baby ,thankfully did not die,
But that still does not solve the question, WHY?
WE are both alive and well.
With God's help that is how I am here to tell.
Please Educate your self if you are considering VBAC.
You may go to the hospital to give birth and your baby may not come
back.
The first week of my son's life was pure HELL!!
I am not going to lie and tell you that it went well.
VBAC has a high price,
Are you willing to pay with your child's LIFE?
