Biography

|
George McAllister, the third eldest of eight siblings, was born and raised in St. Albans, Queens, N.Y. Art was a gift George possessed and at an early age, he enjoyed animation drawings and sketches of the city surroundings which helped develop his talent. The Manhattan landscape is what inspired George to attend the New York School of Art and Design where he majored in architecture. After losing interest in the mechanics of architecture, George left school in his Junior year to join the Navy. Boxing was another interest of George and while in the Navy, he qualified and competed in the 1984 Olympic Trials and rated in the nation's top ten. Never losing his love for the arts, he continued to pencil sketch and paint sports figures, landscape and wild life.
The arts have always been George's admiration as he moved from recording music to window designs and concluding with oil paintings. As a self taught artist, George enjoys painting a variety of subject matters. In everyday life there's a story to be told and George tells it through his paintings. His ambitions for oil paintings have been with him for many years, only now, he has focused toward sharing the talent he has concealed for so long.
