MY NAME IS DENNIS NEELIN AND I AM CURRENTLY RUNNING A 1940 WILLYS SEDAN GASSER POWERED BY A BIG BLOCK FORD AND BACKED UP BY A FOUR SPEED TRANS. THIS IS THE SAME CAR I RAN IN THE MID SIXTYS AND IS RESTORED TO ALMOST THE SAME SPECS AS IT WAS BACK THEN. I RAN 12 FLAT LAST YEAR AT 112 MPH. I HAVE INSTALLED A 773 HP ENGINE FOR THIS SEASON AND FIRST TIME OUT I DID A FIVE FOOT WHEELSTAND AND BENT MY FRONT AXLE PRETTY BADLY. IT IS NOW REPAIRED AND I HOPE TO TURN HIGH NINES @ 140 MPH
I've had the car out since the 14th and turned an eleven flat @ 128 mph. I managed to keep the front-end down by
leaving soft. I have since installed wheelie bars and hope to use all the power next time out. Dennis "Leroy" Neelin.
