Morris County Parkinson Support Group

"Everyone helping each other"

General Information

SUPPORT GROUP FOR PARKINSON DISEASE
PATIENTS AND CAREGIVERS
MORRIS COUNTY, NEW JERSEY

This support group for Parkinsonians and/or caregivers is facilitated by a professional in the field of social services.

Meetings are held monthly in Parsippany near Route 287 and Route 80. On-site parking is available and the building is wheelchair accessible. On a separate day a free exercise class for Parkinson probems is held at a local YMCA.

Meeting Format

Meetings feature guest speakers, Parkinson exercises, films, relaxation techniques, exchange of concerns and solutions and socialization as time allows. Sessions for caregivers encourage them to discuss their concerns. An upbeat, positive attitude is maintained.

Some members come early with their lunch and eat together. This is good way to get to know each other better.

The philosophy behind the group is "everyone helping each other."
