A Christian American Responds to Recent Events:

The United States

Israel & Terrorism

The only revisions to the article below have been that pertinent additional facts from history have been added on as an afterthought from time to time. The facts themselves remain forever engraved in the tablets of history:

Introduction

The terrorist attacks that took place on the morning of September 11th, 2001 literally impacted the lives of everyone in America, and forever changed the face of our world.

Since that day, I've begun to see the world around me in more of a spiritual light, sensing that the age in which we live may well be the one that will witness the culmination of Biblical, end-time prophetic events. For example, did you realize the fact of Israel's very existence is, in and of itself, a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy? So it stands to reason that I have become more observant and watchful over America's relationship with the Nation of Israel. But I didn't like what I began to see so very plainly. And my growing concerns over certain observations I have made is what has inspired the writing of this article.

Some might not like the things I am about to say. But refusing to see such things in our not too distant past eventually led to the extermination of some 6,000,000 Jews in Nazi Germany, while the rest of the world claimed innocence and turned a blind eye to what was happening. And we, as Christians, having our own spiritual connection to Israel and the Jews; we cannot allow such history to repeat itself.

I have three main concerns to address within this article. First is my growing concern over the often blatant hypocrisy of US foreign policy toward the Nation of Israel. Second, but equally as important, is my concern over the deceptive manner in which the Middle East conflict and crisis between Israel and the Palestinians is so often presented to the American public, and to the world at large, by the Arab and western news media. And finally, and perhaps my greatest concern of all, is the anti-Semitism that is on the rise throughout the world as a direct result.

It is not my intent here to cause any undo anxiety over US-Israeli relations. But I do wish to present these facts in such a manner that will call Christians to prayer and action.

~ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels." For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, "Peace be within you." For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your prosperity. ~ Psalm 122:6 - 9

US Foreign Policy Toward Israel

Let me clarify from the start that I am a patriotic American. I bleed red, white and blue, as they say. And from a military standpoint, I am also prepared and willing to do what must be done to confront and defeat the terrorist threat that has struck at our nation. But before either of those things, I am a believer and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. And as such, I must follow after Christ's example of honor and integrity: Jesus never cowered at exposing hypocrisy for the evil that it is.

There has been a growing trend in the United States ever since the crisis in the Middle East heated up between Israel and the Palestinians. Beginning with the Clinton administration, the United States government, and more specifically our State Department, has adopted a policy of criticizing Israel for retaliating against Palestinian acts of terrorism brought against it. And then the unexpected happened to America on the morning of September 11th, 2001. On that day a horrific act of terrorism was committed against the United States on our own soil. And righteous America immediately proclaimed to the rest of the world that the United States was declaring War on Terrorism, and upon the government of any nations providing a safe haven to terrorists. We then moved quickly and formed an alliance with other nations to take military action. And once we began the military campaign in Afghanistan, in my opinion, we began doing the very thing our government was telling Israel not to do.

I wholeheartedly agree that our government has a God-given mandate, a moral obligation and a justified right, to act militarily against this very real threat in our world today. But so does Israel! And though it blessed me to see the way our nation pulled together in such a display of unity, to help each other come through this dark hour; what shames me is the way in which our government seems to have often denied Israel's government the same right to protect its people from Palestinian terrorism, for the sake of a Palestinian Homeland and base of terrorism to be formed in the heart of Israel.

Our State Department criticized Israel nearly every time they entered so-called, "Palestinian areas" within Israel, to weed out the terrorists who had repeatedly attacked and murdered Israeli citizens. And yet our military, at the very same moment, was sent halfway around the world to engage in the same type of campaign in Afghanistan.

Just hours following the terrorist attacks upon the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Israel was ready to come to our aid by sending an expert rescue team to New York, experienced in dealing with this type of terror. Experienced, because it goes on in Israel almost daily, and often multiple times in a given day. But Israel's help was respectfully declined. And CNN reported all of this to a nation whose people have ears to hear, but are never hearing; and who have eyes to see, but are never seeing: No one seemed to notice that Israel was also purposely not invited to join in this fight against terrorism, along with this coalition that was formed and which includes Arab nations. But our State Department continued its open criticisms of Israel for their retaliation against on-going Palestinian terrorist activity within Israel. The US State Department even made the ridiculous suggestion that while the terrorists attacking the United States are trying to destroy it, the terrorists attacking Israel are merely trying to "resolve political issues:"

State Department spokesman, Richard Boucher, said at his daily press briefing on September 27, 2001: "Essentially, there are, on some planes, two different things: One is that there are violent people trying to destroy societies; ours, many others in the world. The world recognizes that and we are going to stop those people. On the other hand, there are issues and violence and political issues that need to be resolved in the Middle East; Israelis and Palestinians." Then tell me, Mr. Boucher, why does the Palestinian Charter still call for the complete destruction of the State of Israel? And why did Yasser Arafat himself claim to want an end to the violence while talking to western news agencies, but then turn right around and cry out, "Jihad! Jihad! Jihad!" in the Arabic language on the official Arab and Palestinian news networks?

Following the attacks on September 11th, both British and Israeli news agencies reported that Palestinian officials prevented their cameramen from filming the mobs of people on Palestinian streets who were celebrating the terrorist attacks against the United States, and lifting up Osama Bin Laden as some sort of folk hero. The Palestinian Authority knew it would have been bad publicity for the western world to see such revealing images. But to me, the truth is painfully obvious here. So my question is, "When is our government going to wake up?"

In dealing with the Palestinian refugees, Israel once offered to do something that not even one of the many Arab nations were willing to do, in that Israel was willing to give up part of their own land as territory for a Palestinian State. I believe Israel was coerced by the western world into making these "land-for-peace" concessions. But still, nothing Israel offered was ever good enough for Yasser Arafat, to include when Israel laid Palestinian Statehood on the negotiation table at Camp David. Arafat always demanded more, to include the whole of the Old City of Jerusalem, which contains the Jewish Temple Mount. And Arafat had openly admitted that his goal was to provoke Israel into an armed conflict while simultaneously turning world opinion against Israel's military retaliations. That is why "Chairman" Arafat allowed the Palestinian terrorist acts against Israel to continue until his dying day. And they will continue long after his death in great part as a result of the entire young generation Arafat managed to indoctrinate with his lies and his open hatred for each and every Jew. His anti-Semitic hatred was and continues to be taught as a normal part of the Palestinian public school curriculum. And our US tax dollars have supported it!

Yasser Arafat was himself a terrorist and the leader of a terrorist organization right up until the time of his death, no matter how you slice it. And he was certainly never a "statesman" in my book. Nor do I have any renewed respect for him now, even after his death. Arafat was quite simply a terribly evil and manipulative man, and the world is better off without him.

If the truth would be known, most if not all of the Arab nations deny Israel's right to exist. And that is why the United States never invited Israel's military to join the coalition in the War On Terrorism. It would have made it impossible to gain the support of the many Arab nations if we had done so. Yet all along it is these very same Arab nations who are producing the world's terrorists. We call Israel our ally and our friend, but our treatment of Israel often speaks differently. And more precisely it demonstrates a relationship of convenience and hypocrisy on our part, if you ask me.

The Arabic nations giving their cooperation in the War On Terrorism, as a condition of their cooperation, insisted that the United States assert more pressure to work toward a Palestinian State in Israel. We did so, and now the people there have elected none other than the Hamas to run their provisional government. The Hamas is yet another terrorist organization that openly denies Israel's right to exist. So in effect what we also have now is a new Palestinian Government that denies Israel's right to exist.

The "Palestinians" are not a tribe, race or nation of people. They never have been! And Israel is certainly not occupying "their" land, as Yasser Arafat and his Hamas successors, together with other Arab heads of state, are leading the world to believe. The ugly truth is that the Palestinian plight is nothing but a political trump-card the Arab nations have used to swing world opinion against Israel. And the forming of this Palestinian State within Israel will be their "Trojan Horse."

Understanding the Middle East Conflict

Jewish presence in the Holy Land dates back to between 1600 and 1500 BC. This is when Moses led the twelve tribes of Israel on their exodus from Egyptian slavery, to form their nation in Canaan, more commonly known as the Promised Land, or Holy Land. Its capitol was Jerusalem in ancient Judea. Arab domination of Judea did not begin until about 638 CE. But even then, there was always a remnant of Jews that remained in their homeland throughout that time.

When the Romans captured Judea from ancient Israel in the first century, they called it Syria-Palaestina. When the British occupied this territory following World War I, the entire region now known as Israel and Jordan had become known as "Palestine." And up until recent history after 1948, all of the residents of this area were called, "Palestinians;" Jews, Gentiles and Arabs alike. And it is especially worthy to note here that prior to 1948, the Arab residents of Palestine preferred not to be called by the name, "Palestinian."

In 1917, the British Balfour Declaration designated all of British-occupied Palestine as a "national home" for the Jewish people. And then the precursor to the UN, the League of Nations, also agreed to the creation of the Jewish homeland in Palestine in 1920. In 1922, England reneged and designated all of the land east of the Jordan River as an Arab-Palestinian area, calling it Transjordan, and Jews were no longer allowed to settle there. Everything west of the Jordan, however, was designated as the Jewish-Palestinian area, including Judea and Samaria (the West Bank). And the Jews were given that entire portion of land to settle in, without any similar restriction in place like the one within the Arab area of Palestine. As large waves of Jewish immigrants began returning to their homeland, Arab nationalists began rioting in protest against them, and gave their support to Nazi Germany in World War II. In 1939, the British overturned the Balfour Declaration which halted Jewish immigration to Palestine altogether, thereby effectively condemning some six-million of them to face the Holocaust.

In 1947, the newly founded United Nations issued resolution 181 which would divide Palestine into two states, one Jewish and the other Arab, taking even more land away from the Jews, with Jerusalem remaining under international sovereignty. The Arab nations all voted unanimously against the UN partition, because they did not want the Jews to have any portion of British-Palestine. But in 1948, the British occupation of the Holy Land ended in accordance with the UN resolution.

So on May 14, 1948, after the destruction of over 6,000,000 Jewish people in Europe, a tiny remnant of them formed the Jewish State of Israel in the Holy Land. The following day, they were immediately attacked by Transjordan (now Jordan) and five other surrounding Arab-Islamic nations. The Arabs of Transjordan invaded the Israeli mountain areas of Judea and Samaria, and annexed every Jewish settlement there to Transjordan, thereafter calling those areas the "West Bank." Arab forces also illegally seized all of international East Jerusalem, which included the Jewish sector of the Old City. The attacking Arab forces drove Jews from their homes, confiscated their property, destroyed 34 synagogues and split Jerusalem in two. And so it was all of the Jewish settlers who were originally forced from their homes and driven out of the West Bank and East Jerusalem by occupying Arab forces, and Jews were no longer allowed to live there. And this trend continues now.

The litmus test that continues to foster restrictions in today's land-for-peace agreements is one of being Jewish, rather than Arab. In other words, an Arab may live in any part of "Palestine" he so chooses without the worry of being forced out because he is an Arab, to include those Arabs now living inside of Israel. Jewish people, on the other hand, are being forced out of and restricted from living within "Palestinian" areas simply because they are Jews. All of the other Arab nations also restrict Jews from living within their borders, because they are Jewish. It's all very clearly a one-sided process of elimination.

From 1917 to 1948, the Jews who had made it to the Holy Land had built up the areas of Judea and Samaria. These included the Jewish towns and villages of Atarot, Bet Haarava, Ein Tzurim, Gush Etzion, Kallia, Massout Yizhak, Neve Yakov, Revadim and the Jewish quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem. And these Jewish settlements were all taken over by the attacking Arab forces in 1948, as they invaded the so-called "West Bank." But the remaining portion of the Nation of Israel somehow survived.

Israel was again attacked by an Egyptian-led Arab force intent on destroying the Jewish State in the 1956 Sinai War. And again Israel survived, turning control of the captured Sinai Peninsula over to the United Nations, after a UN cease-fire.

In 1967, Arab nations banded together a third time to destroy the Jewish State. When war was again clearly imminent, Israel reacted with a pre-emptive air strike. Miraculously and against overwhelming odds, Israel defended itself on three fronts in this Six-Day War, and the God of Jacob returned Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) to the Jewish People, which included the Old City of Jerusalem and their Temple Mount. Israel also gained control of the Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula again, as the Arab armies surrendered and retreated. This is also when the Arab-Palestinian refugee problem began coming to the forefront of Middle East stability concerns and Arab propaganda.

Following the 1967 war, many Palestinian refugees willingly chose to leave Judea and Samaria, because they were unwilling to live under the Israeli government. Israel said they could all stay if they desired, and some did just that. Of those that stayed, some became Arab-Israeli citizens who have co-existed peacefully with the Jews in Israel for many years since, themselves also falling victim to the terrorism of their Islamic brethren from time to time.

In 1973, an Egyptian-led Arab force launched yet a fourth attempt to destroy Israel, in a surprise afternoon attack on Israel's holy day of Yom Kippur. This war ended with no decisive victor upon a UN cease-fire agreement as the Arab forces retreated, and with Israeli forces well in reach of Syria's city of Damascus. Under the United Nations agreement, Israel retained none of the new ground it occupied during the Yom Kippur conflict.

Israel returned the twice-captured Sinai peninsula to Egypt, under the Camp David accords of the Jimmy Carter administration. The Oslo Agreement for a Palestinian State then followed under sponsorship of the Clinton administration. And under that agreement, Israel has given up even more land; land that by all rights was twice promised to the Jewish people in 1917 and 1920, and long before that by God himself! Israel repossessed this land as a result of repeated Arab acts of war and aggression brought against the Jewish State. But Israel was still willing to offer solutions for peace that were consistently refused by Arafat and the Arab world.

Following the outcome of the 1967 war, Israel held only 23% of the land of Ancient Israel that had become known as "Palestine," while Jordan retained some 77% of it. Furthermore, this region is home to every sacred location of Judaism, while the most sacred place in Islam is not even located in "Palestine," but in Saudi Arabia's city of Mecca. If the West Bank is to be made the second Arab state within "Palestine," the Arab people will then hold 83% of this region, while the Jewish people would retain only about 17% of the region they were originally promised 100% of by England and the League of Nations. But it is always Israel that has been internationally pressured to discard Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) to the Arabs as, "Land for Peace."

Is this reasonable when the Arabs already have 77% of "Palestine?" Shouldn't we expect the Arab people to adopt the standards of the civilized world and be willing to live in peace without demanding more and more land from the Jews? More than that, demanding land from the only race of people ever to be so persecuted and nearly exterminated from the very face of the earth by an evil, anti-Semitic hatred which darkened our own recent history? I'm sorry, but it seems to me that it is the international community that is in debt to each and every Jew, and not the Jews who are in debt to the international community, here. That is if indeed we were serious that we would never again allow something as horrific as the Holocaust to repeat itself. In addition, the 17 Arabic States (Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bahrain, Quatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen, Tunisia, Egypt, Syria, Morocco, Iraq, Lybia, Saudi Arabia, Algeria and Sudan) together comprise a land mass over 500 times the size of modern Israel. And yet it is still Israel that is being pressured to give up their land to an Arabic people who today are calling themselves, "Palestinians."

Arab-Palestinian refugees lived in Jordan and Egypt from 1948 to 1967 without being settled by either of those nations. And for 19 years the people of the world financially supported them through the United Nations, while the leaders of the Arab nations they lived in refused to settle them. But they kept them instead in refugee camps to use them as human propaganda to swing world opinion against Israel. On the other hand, an equal number of Jewish refugees who sought refuge from the Arab areas of Palestine during that time were all absorbed by and settled in Israel. And what of the now deceased, self-made Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat? He and his Palestinian Liberation Organization (the PLO) were driven out of both Lebanon and Jordan, prior to their predicament in Israel, and were commonly known as a major terrorist organization up until the peace process began with Israel. And the only thing that changed was that their name was changed to the Palestinian Authority.

Following each of the wars that they themselves had provoked, the Arab nations were unwilling to settle their "Palestinian" brothers who willingly fled Israel, in stark contrast to the many Jews who were forced from areas controlled by the Arabs. And all of this while the Arabs continued year after year to perpetuate their ancient hatred of the Jewish people. Feeding upon that hatred, Yasser Arafat openly proved his unwillingness to arrive at any peaceful coexistence with Israel when he stormed out of the Camp David peace talks, refusing Israel's offer of 95% of everything he demanded, to include Palestinian Statehood in the West Bank. But you see, nothing short of 100% is ever agreeable to a terrorist. That is why you can never "negotiate" peace with someone of this mentality. The only option the terrorist gives you is in meeting all of their demands, or the terrorist activity will continue. And this terrorist-mentality is the cause of the current and continuing Palestinian Refugee problem in the Middle East. Not Israel!

In light of the underlying truths exposed here, it appears to me that anti-Semitism is still alive and on the rise again in our world today. So I feel the need to remind Christians in America and around the world that we, together with Isaac and Jacob, are all Children of the Promise and Covenant given to Abraham. We are spiritual Jews; we are spiritual Israel! And as such, we need to be diligent in praying for the decisions of our government toward the Nation of Israel, and for the peace of Jerusalem. Moreover, we must remember that God spoke these words to Israel through Abraham, saying,

~ "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." ~ Genesis 12:3

Our foreign policy toward Israel in this matter has been hypocritical and absurd, and it also clearly goes against Biblical prophecy concerning the Holy Land. And that is a very dangerous thing for America. So with all of that in mind, I ask this question: Why should Israel continue to be forced to exchange their own land for an empty offer of peace with these Arab nations? The very same Arab nations who illegally established those "pre-1967 borders" they now demand, during their 1948 assault to destroy Israel? No! What we should be demanding is an honest look at what actually happened in 1948 and demand that Jordan and the other Arab nations be the ones to settle their Arab brethren of Palestine. And by all rights Israel should retain the entire 23% of Palestine it was promised and given in the first place, rather those Arab refugees now living in the "West Bank" desire to live peacefully under Israeli sovereignty or not. And if they are unwilling, then don't continue to expect Israel to coddle their terrorism any more than the rest of the world would put up with it.

I humbly acknowledge here that throughout the history of the Common Era, many wrongs have also been committed against the Jewish people in the name of Christianity. I too bear the title, "Christian." But having learned Jesus' character over these years, I find it impossible to believe that Christ Jesus sanctioned any of it. And so I apologize for the evil done to Jews, in Christ's name. And when the rest of the world begins to turn against Israel in these last days, blaming the Jewish people for all of the unrest, I hope and pray that genuine Christians today will have the integrity and moral courage this time to stand up for what is right. If we don't, mark my words: We will be next!

I, for one, can see what's going on here, and it troubles me. And I don't like the thought of the future world situation where a path such as this may eventually lead America. I don't like it at all. But I intend to support Israel in what is Biblically moral and right no matter the cost, convinced that this is indeed the only right and just position a Christian can take if he truly understands God's covenant with both the Jew and the Gentile alike.

An Observation That Speaks Clearly for Itself

Again: who are the "Palestinians" and just where did they come from? On the left is pictured the flag of Jordan (the League of Nations-designated, Arab area of British Palestine, formerly called Transjordan, and having the Jordan River as its western boundary, until the 1947 UN partition of Palestine). And on the right is the intended flag of a new, additional Palestinian Arab state which is to be carved from the so-called West Bank and Gaza. But again, the West Bank is Judea and Samaria, which is part of the League of Nations-designated, Jewish area of British Palestine, to the west side of the Jordan River.

Looking at these two flags, it's really not too difficult to figure out that the Arab roots for them are one in the same. This group of Arab people already has a "Palestinian" state. It's called Jordan! Their people are one in the same and indeed, never have been a separate tribe or race of people unto themselves. And thus, it is ridiculous for the United States, the UN and the World to expect Israel to give up their land for a false promise of peace from the Arabs who insist on destroying them. And it is plain hypocrisy for the World community to continue to turn a blind eye in not insisting and demanding that the Arab-Islamic nations take responsibility and control over these terrorist atrocities throughout Israel and the world. It is a blatant and repugnant, anti-Semitic sin of omission. But the world depends on their oil. And so we choose to ignore the fact that these nations are the very root of the Islamic terrorism we all now face.

Is any person out there actually naive enough to believe that once this second Palestinian Arab state is formed, that the promise of peace at Oslo will be kept and enforced by the Palestinians or other Arab nations? You are part of a much larger problem if you really believe that.

And Yes, It Is a Religious Conflict

I respect the fact that our President does not wish to turn this War On Terrorism into a "War On Islam." I do not wish to do that either. But I am certainly not naive enough to believe that this is not a "Religious War."

Just look at the conflicts around the world today (Chechnya, Syrbia, Croatia, Bosnia, India, the Philippines, Sudan and the Middle East) and you will discover an interesting fact. What you will see is that it is Islamic groups fighting against non-Islamic groups. Be it against Christians, Jews or others; one party in most of the conflicts today are Muslim. Why is that? And why do different Islamic factions call for Muslims around the world to unite in "Islamic Jihad" or Holy War? It is because Islam is not the "peaceful" religion President Bush seems to think it is.

I am not at all suggesting that Islam's Muslims are synonymous with Terrorism's terrorists. Because many throughout the US and the world who are practicing Muslims, do not adhere to the radical teachings found in their Quran. But those teachings are indeed there, nonetheless. And it is from there that these so-called "radicals" get their inspiration to carry out such acts of aggression and terrorism.

The Quran teaches that Islam will not be "purified" as long as there are Christians and Jews running around. We are all mere "infidels" according to Mohammed, their prophet, who claimed to speak for Allah, their god. And in the Quran he recorded Allah's command to Muslims, that any Muslim who finds us (Jews and Christians), then we should be killed because of our unbelief. And the Judeo-Christian, Biblical revelation of our personable, loving and forgiving, covenant keeping God, is completely foreign to them.

Israel is called the "Little Satan" and the United States of America is known as the "Great Satan" to those in radical Islam. And this is precisely why Israel's existence in what is considered the heart of the "Arab World" is such an unholy outrage to the Arab nations. It is because all of those Arabic nations are, at their core, wholeheartedly and undeniably Islamic. And they themselves have said numerous times that they are determined to force Israel, and every living Jew, into the sea.

So, while we do not wish to turn this into a "War On Islam," it would also be foolish of us to ignore the fact that many in radical Islam are indeed viewing these conflicts as "wars upon Jews" or "wars upon Christians." And they approach "Islamic Jihad" from a purely religious point of view, regardless of how we choose to look at it. Their intent is to purify the world of us "infidels." And you are spiritually blind if you think they will rely on peace-loving means to accomplish that end.

So please don't allow all of the political white-wash to distract you from the spiritual reality of what this world is now facing at the hands of fundamentalist Islamic terrorism. For example, what of the thousands of Christians sold into slavery right now in Muslim Sudan? And what of the Christian persecution today in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and other Arab nations? Why isn't any of this making headlines? And why the obvious bias in favor of the Palestinians whenever the Israeli-Palestinian conflict makes the evening news? The only reason I can think of is because the truth of such headlines don't fit in with the current scheme of liberal-political correctness predominant in western society and news media today; where Christianity is looked down upon, and where the majority of the western news agencies have bought the story of the "Palestinian plight," hook, line and sinker!

It has not been my intent here, to suggest that the United States should blindly support Israel. Neither am I suggesting that the government of Israel can do no wrong, or that all of the Palestinian refugees endorse this terrorism. But the facts speak for themselves here. The US would do well to recognize these facts and openly acknowledge them before the world and the UN more accurately and consistently.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict ultimately boils down to just one solution, and it is not a political or military one. It is not even a question of who might be right or wrong in the eyes of the world population, or who is more deserving or worthy. No, what it all boils down to is who's god is truly God, and who did God give this Holy Land to? Because God has said that he will indeed uphold his covenant with Israel not for their sake, but for the sake of his own holy name.

When one reads from the Prophet Ezekiel, chapters 35 & 36, with the knowledge and understanding that Mt. Seir and Edom are representative of the Arab People, and that the "Mountains of Israel" represent the Jewish People, you will see what I mean. And you will see how it all ties into the current crisis when you realize that the "Mountains of Israel" are Judea and Samaria, more commonly referred to today as, "The West Bank."

It would be easy now to walk in anger. But you know as well as I, that the only hope for Muslims is the same hope we all have in the God of Israel. So let us endeavor to continue to share that love with them at each opportunity. Because,

"Love covers over a multitude of sins." ~ 1st Peter 4:8

Shalom aleichem!

FROM KOENIG'S INTERNATIONAL NEWS~ 6/12/2002:
"TEN MAJOR EVENTS Related to U.S. & ISRAEL"

1. October 30, 1991: The Perfect Storm - As President George H. W. Bush is opening the Madrid (Spain) Conference to consider "land for peace" in Israel's Middle East role, the "perfect storm" develops in the North Atlantic, creating the largest waves ever recorded in that region. The storm travels 1000 miles from "east to west" instead of the normal "west to east" pattern and crashes into the New England Coast. Thirty-five foot waves crash into the Kennebunkport home of then President Bush.

2. August 23, 1992: Hurricane Andrew - When the Madrid Conference moves to Washington DC and the peace talks resume, Hurricane Andrew, the worst natural disaster ever to hit America, comes ashore and produces an estimated $30 billion in damage and leaving 180,000 homeless in Florida.

3. January 16, 1994: Northridge Earthquake - President Bill Clinton meets with Syria's President Hafez el-Assad in Geneva. They talk about a peace agreement with Israel that includes giving up the Golan Heights. Within 24 hours, a powerful 6.9 earthquake rocks Southern California. This quake, centered in Northridge, becomes the second most destructive natural disaster to hit the United States, behind Hurricane Andrew.

4. January 21, 1998: Lewinsky Scandal - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with President Clinton at the White House and is coldly received. Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright refuse to have lunch with him. Shortly afterwards on that day, the Monica Lewinsky scandal breaks into the mass media and begins to occupy a major portion of Clinton's time.

5. September 28, 1998: Hurricane George - As Secretary of State Albright works on the final details of an agreement in which Israel would give up 13 percent of Yesha (Judah and Samaria), Hurricane George slams into the United States Gulf Coast with 110 mph winds and gusts up to 175 mph. The hurricane hits the coast and stalled. On September 28, Clinton meets with Yasser Arafat and Netanyahu at the White House to finalize this land deal. Later, Arafat addresses the United Nations about declaring an independent Palestinian state by May 1999, as Hurricane George pounds the Gulf Coast, causing $1 billion in damage. At the exact time that Arafat departs the country, the storm begins to dissipate.

6. October 15-22, 1998: Texas Flooded - On October 15, 1998, Arafat and Netanyahu meet at the Wye River Plantation in Maryland. The talks are scheduled to last five days with the focus on Israel giving up 13 percent of Yesha. The talks are extended and conclude on October 23. On October 17, awesome rains and tornadoes hit southern Texas. The San Antonio area is deluged with rain. The rain and flooding in Texas continue until October 22 and then subside. The floods ravage 25 percent of Texas and leave over one billion dollars in damage. On October 21, Clinton declares this section of Texas a major disaster area.

7. November 30, 1998: Market Capitalization Evaporates - Arafat comes to Washington again to meet with President Clinton to raise money for a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital. A total of 42 other nations
were represented in Washington. all the nations agreed to give Arafat $3 billion in aid. Clinton promised $400 million, and the European nations $1.7 billion. On the same day, the Dow Jones average drops 216 points, and on December 1, the European Market had its third worst day in history. Hundreds of billions of market capitalization were wiped out in the U.S. and Europe.

8. December 12, 1998: Clinton is Impeached - As Clinton lands in the Palestinian-controlled section of Israel to discuss the "land for peace" process, the House of Representatives votes four articles of impeachment against him.

9. May 3, 1999: The Powerful Super Tornado - On the day that Yasser Arafat is scheduled to declare a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital, the most powerful tornado storm system ever to hit the United States sweeps across Oklahoma and Kansas. The winds are clocked at 316 mph the fastest wind speed ever recorded. The declaration is postponed to December 1999 at the request of President Clinton, whose letter to Arafat encourages him in his "aspirations for his own land." He also writes that the Palestinians have a right to "determine their own future on their own land" and that they deserve to "live free, today, tomorrow and forever."

10. Week of October 11, 1999: Hurricane, Earthquake and Dow Collapse - As Jewish settlers in 15 West Bank (Israel) settlements are evicted from the covenant land in Israel, the Dow-Jones financial averages lose 5.7 percent in the worst week since October 1989. On October 15 the Dow lost 266 points, and a hurricane slams into North Carolina. On the next morning, October 16, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake rocks the southwest in the fifth most powerful earthquake in 20th Century. The earthquake was centered in the California desert and did little damage but was felt in three states.

FROM OLIVE TREE MINISTRIES:
Re: HURRICANE KATRINA

What you won't hear anywhere is that this week [the week of Hurricane Katrina] New Orleans was to observe "Southern Decadence Day" with 100,000 homosexuals gathering there to commit unspeakable acts in public. Previous events were photographed and sent to the mayor and police officials [for prosecution] but they did not care. They had their own lust: The $100,000,000 the event brings in.

Gambling casinos took a hit on the coast as this is where the eye of the storm hit.

And as America forced Israelis out of parts of their land, hurricane Katrina was building in the Atlantic. A Fox reporter said, "It must be an emotional experience (for Americans) to walk away from their homes and not ever live in them again." Same with those forced out in Israel. Israeli homes are being demolished as Gulf Coast homes are demolished.

This was America's greatest "evacuation." Now we have "refugees".

Israelis were evacuated and many are refugees living in tents and refugee centers, thanks to America. The Israeli uprooting will affect their entire economy in that some of their finest produce which was exported is now left behind.

America's economy could face a steep recession as oil processing refineries were damaged. Plan to see price increases within days. Will this bring our economy down? Major industries will be affected from food delivery, jet fuel, travel, insurance, and so much more with the "ripple effect" of skyrocketing gas prices.

FROM BINYAMIN NETANYAHU:

~ April, 2002. While former Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was in the United States as a spokesman for the Israeli Government, he spoke to the US Senate. Here are excerpts from Netanyahu's speech containing extremely valid observations. My only question is when will our government realize these things:

"The question many in my country are now asking is this: Will America apply its principles consistently and win this war, or will it selectively abandon these principles and thereby ultimately risk losing the war? My countrymen ask this question because they believe that terrorism is an indivisible evil that must be fought indivisibly. They believe that if moral clarity is obfuscated, that if you allow one part of the terror network to survive, much less be rewarded for its crimes, then the forces of terror will regroup and rise again. Until last week, I was absolutely certain that the United States would adhere to its principles and lead the free world to a decisive victory. Today, I too have my concerns. I am concerned that when it comes to terror directed against Israel, the moral and strategic clarity that is so crucial for victory is being lost. I am concerned that the imperative of defeating terror everywhere is being ignored when the main engine of Palestinian terror is allowed to remain intact. I'm concerned that the State of Israel, that has for decades bravely manned the front lines against terror, is being pressed to back down just when it is on the verge of uprooting Palestinian terror... No one, of course, would dare suggest that the United States was the guilty party in World War II because German casualties - which, by the way, included millions of civilians - were 20 times higher than American casualties. So too, only a twisted and corrupt logic would paint America and Britain as the aggressors in the current war because Afghan casualties are reported by some-- I don't have conclusive figures-- to have well exceeded the death toll of September 11th… With or without international support, the government of Israel must fight, not only to defend its people and to restore a dangerously eroded deterrence to secure the Jewish state, but also to ensure that the free world wins the war against terror in this pivotal arena in the heart of the Middle East… [Israel] must dismantle Arafat's terrorist regime and expel Arafat from the region. As long as the engineer of Palestinian terror remains in the territories, terrorism will not stop and the promise of peace will never be realized. Second, Israel must clean out the terrorists, the weapons, the explosives from all the Palestinian-controlled areas. We have uncovered just in Jenin about 1,400 Kalachnikov rifles, 12 laboratories for explosives, for TNT explosives, and hundreds - hundreds - of front-line terrorists. No place, whether it is a refugee camp in Gaza or an office in Ramallah, can be allowed to remain a haven for terror… Rather than bomb Palestinian-populated cities and towns from the air - an operation that would have claimed thousands of civilian casualties - the Israeli army is taking on a much greater risk by using ground forces that painstakingly make their way through the hornet's nest of Palestinian terror. But instead of praising Israel for seeking to minimize civilian casualties through careful and deliberate action, most of the world's governments shamelessly condemn it. For seven months, many of these governments have rightly supported the war against Afghan terror, yet after only seven days, their patience for Israel's war against terror has run out… Europe - which 60 years ago refused to lift a finger to save millions of Jews on whose soil they were annihilated - is now turning its collective backs on a Jewish state that is trying to ward off mass killers with legitimate military action. I think this is downright shameful. But I have to admit that I didn't expect much better from any of these European governments. Yet the America I know and have come to deeply respect has always been different. History has entrusted upon this nation the task of carrying the torch of freedom. And time and again, through both war and peace, America has carried that torch with courage and with honor, combining a might the world has never known with a sense of justice that no power in history has possessed. I have come before you today to ask you to courageously continue to carry this torch with courage, with honor, by standing by an outpost of freedom that is resisting an unprecedented terrorist assault. I ask you to stand by Israel's side in its fight against Arafat's tyranny of terror, and thereby help defeat an evil that threatens all of us, that threatens all of mankind. And, knowing you, I'm sure that you will respond."

~ I assure you we'll not see the end of these situations until our policy toward Israel changes and we stop pressuring Israel to give up their land to terrorists. And what is to become of our relationship with the Nation of Israel may very well depend on our actions and our prayers. So I do urge you to include Israel in your prayers, and to pray concerning our government's foriegn policy toward Israel.
