Warning! The layout of this website may be a bit confusing, however. Please enjoy it for the wealth of information it offers to African-American Women. Perhaps at a later date, I will format it properly. In the meantime, Sistas remain strong, beautiful, innovative and most of all supportive of one another.
My Thoughts
I am an African-American woman looking to join forces with other African-American women to promote college education among single African-American mothers. Let us build stronger bonds with our children, read to our children and help our children acheive their goals. And, let us not forget, to praise our children.
Mothers, as we raise our beautiful black daughters, let us provide them with a solid foundation to support the fact that their beauty is not defined by society. Also, as we raise our beautiful black sons, let us respect them and reinforce the love and pride they should hold for their race. Ladies, last and certainly not least, let us love the African-American men who still love us and celebrate with us our blackness, uniqueness and sweetness.
Some encouraging news is that, African-American women are taking an advantage of the mulititude of educational opportunities. Since going back to school, I have been less encouraged by the low number of African-American men. And yet, it's very impressive that, black women are making strides in improving their socioeconomic status. Way to go girls; keep up the good work.
From The Heart
Please encourage black women to obtain a college degree or at least give college a try. Form a buddy-system with your girlfriends and tackle college together. College is indeed a challenge. However, anything worth having is worth the challenge. Besides, we are a race and gender that has had many challenges, and yet, we have been very triumphant where little hope has existed. Don't wait until you sleep to dream. Never lose hope, and always strive for the best. And never never never settle for the path of least resistance. Also, the greatest love we'll obtain from a physical being should be the love we obtain from ourselves. The minute we allow others to love us more than ourselves, we have compromised ourselves. Of course, these are just my views and opinions.
Sistas, be strong as always, and continue to love, guide, support, and encourage one another. Furthermore, I'm living for the day when respect and admiration among African-American women is at an all-time high.
