I would like to take a minute and explain this page. This page is about the a 1955 built Vern Davis Hull named the MISS BEE BEE E-4 CLASS E SERVICE RUNABOUT. This boat was raced by my Grandfather, William "Edgar" Jones. He raced with Mr. J.P. Watkins some, but mostly with my father until the time he went to college. The boat was created by Vern Davis and actually completed by my Grandfather. It is a National Champion boat during the time my Grandfather drove it (1957). It was sold to Mr. Thomas Jebson who raced it as the MISS AMY D E-27 until 1972. During this period, I know of President's Cups that were won, but not sure of the years.
The boat was sold in 1972 to a young man taking it to Florida and from there it's been lost. Myself, along with all of the family, are searching for the boat. I will be posting more information up bit by bit so please check back.
There is also some information that has been posted by my Uncle located at the following sites:
If you have any information regarding this boat either as the MISS BEE BEE E-4 or the MISS AMY D E-27, please email me at jenniferajones@bellsouth.net
