About Us
In 1993, my first chessies made their way into my home and heart - Chesabar's Dashin Sailor Boy, CD, CGC, TDI and Chesabar's Stormy Savannah, CGC. Dasher and Stormy excelled in anything I challenged them to do. Whether it was obedience, flyball, swimming, retrieving - as long as I was having fun, so were they. Dasher is now 12.5 years old and has proven himself over and over to me. He is truly a one in a million dog. His mission in life is to please.
In 1997, my third chessie stole my heart as well, Ch.* Chesabar's Piccadilly, CGC. Dilly is a lovely bitch, that finished her breed championship at 15 months of age with 3 majors from the puppy classes. She is a multiple Best in Breed winner (AKC/CKC) and has 2 group placements (CKC) - all with limited showing. Dilly has quite the little personality - she is energetic and fun loving and would be happy to retrieve all day long if I didn't stop her.
Ch. Riverdel's Red Sky at Night, CGC and Riverdel's Leather and Lace, CGC, joined our family in March 2003. They are Dilly's kids and are our newest "stars" who show great promise. They love to swim and retrieve and always return to hand. They have been great puppies, quick to learn and eager to please. The future is bright for this happy duo.
The past thirteen years with my chessies have led me to a new circle of friends and down many wonderful paths - obedience training, therapy dog work, flyball, agility, hunt test training, and rescue. Yes that's right folks, unfortunately, there are many fine chessies in need of loving homes (please see "Links" for more information on rescue dogs).
The Future:
The future holds more fun times with the "brown dawgs" and our friends. Look for us in conformation competition, obedience trials and hunt tests. Puppies are available occassionally. And we are now offering Sky at stud to approved bitches. All breeding stock have their hip and eye clearances, conform to the breed standard and have demonstrated excellent health, temperament and working ability. Puppies will come with written health quarantees.
