Update 3 - 9/23/00
We have completed the beautiful Oregon Coast and are making our way south through the grandeur of the Redwood National Forest.

The combination of huge old trees towering overhead and the rugged coast with barking Sea Lions and migrating Whales is a sight that leaves us awestruck each day. Our senses are in overload with the smells of the forest and the ocean and the sounds of crashing surf and wind in the tree branches so far above. There is no way to describe this. Please do your soul a big favor and ride this part of our amazing country someday.

We have met many interesting travelers along the way. We look forward each evening to meeting other riders in the hiker-biker site. We had a great time at Harris Beach State Park (near Crescent City), getting together to order pizza from the local Pizza Hut and eating it around a warm camp fire.

Some of our fellow travelers are:
Hilda - from Belgium - she is going to Eureka where she will catch the bus to San Francisco and the flight home.
Martin - from Austria - he is riding to San Francisco to spend a few weeks with friends before continuing on to ride New Zealand and Australia
Pat - from Switzerland - she started in Salt Lake City and is riding down the coast to San Francisco for her flight back to Switzerland
Paul and Anna - from Washington, DC - they started in Vancouver, BC and followed the "old" Pacific Coast Bike route north to Vancouver Island before turning south through Victoria and down the Hood Canal, turning west near Olympia and following the coast route from Aberdeen, Washington. They met some friends in Crescent City and are continuing their tour to San Francisco where they will depart by air for home.

Having the time of our lives -- wish you were all here with us!
George and Sharon
