Howard University NAACP

About the NAACP

* Founded in 1909 in New York City by a group of black and white citizens committed to social justice, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is the nation's largest and strongest civil rights organization.

* The NAACP's principal objective is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority citizens in the United States and to eliminate race prejudice.

* The Howard University NAACP is committed to promoting civil rights not only on our campus, but in the community as well.

* This year, we are tirelessly working to educate and register everyone to GET OUT AND VOTE!

* Some of the programs we are initiating include: Investment Clubs in the Classroom, Taxi Tracks, Basic Needs Kits, and a Community Action Team.
