The Nutcracker Series

2003 was the first year for which large oil pastels on textured mat board were created for the holidays. It was then that I began placing images of the nutcrackers on my site, and the series was born.

The series debuted with four Nutcrackers pictured above, three honoring USA, France and Britain and the fourth highlighted the north poles' most famous citizen, Santa Claus. The four 'models' for the first year's Nutcrackers were actual wooden nutcrackers in a large collection I have enjoyed building for a number of years.

Like my collection, the Nutcracker Series is great fun for me and may continue to grow from year to year, and as long as the series grows, I promise to show you the drawings and also to offer the special SANTA giclees, each subsequent year.
