SELF-PORTRAITS
By
Shelley Gorny Schoenherr
A personal note about Self-Portraiture ... Since the early 70's, portraits and self-portraits have reoccurred as subject matter.  Each decade has produced a key self-portrait which I intended to hold in a personal collection.

Of these, only the recent painting, "What Noses Are For", has been allowed out of my posession.  It was a surprise that I was willing to release one.  But, I now take comfort in the thought  that although someone else may own my creation  - I originally gave it it's life and therefore I retain it's spirit.
