Company News
Recently we performed the show that we were formed to do. It was a short two-hander called "Word Against Word" by Jeff Barker. Having only one member in the beginning did cause some problems, but for the show we hired another actor called Michael Ryan. While he is not a full time member of the company he is enthusiastic about being called up to do future shows.
The play was about a young man called Jay, who had been beaten up and was in hospital, and the discussion/argument about what happened with the man, called Easy, he accused of doing it. It is a piece with twists and turns and a lot of mystery.
Our first performance was on 12/05/01 and was in an 'unusual' venue. It took place in a pub called the Varsity on Myrtle Street in Liverpool. The managment were quite enthusiastic about having a theatrical show in their establishment as one had never been done there before. The audience for the performance was not particularly large, but they were very appreciative. After the show two members of the audience bought drinks for Simon and Michael as a way of saying thank you. The managment said afterwards that we were very welcome to bring future shows to their pub, and if it ever comes up again then we may well take them up on their offer. After all it is their that we got our start.
