All hypnosis, in reality, is self hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is a technique that allows the client to effect a greater change in themselves, in a shorter period of time, than more traditional methods. The hypnotherapist, or facilitator, acts only as a coach, guiding and assisting in the total process. The methods utilized by SpiritsWay are directed more toward the areas of enhanced visualization and deep relaxation than those normally associated with more traditional forms of hypnosis. The effective utilization of these techniques, and the clients commitment to continue with the program add a major aspect to both the initial therapy and the carry over affects of the process.

The word Reiki (ray-kee) means "Universal Life Energy." The term is derived from two Japanese symbols.
REI - defining the limitless nature of energy and
KI - defining the vital life force or the energy itself. Reiki has its roots in ancient Tibet. The "modern" form was discovered and further developed by Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki is not a form of healing in and of itself. Rather, it awakens hidden energies within the body and enhances the body's natural ability to heal itself. While full Reiki treatments are beneficial and are occasionally included, the SpiritsWay technique is designed to focus the healing energy on specific points of blockage or personal need.

The use of Pastoral Counseling enhances the carry-over aspect of the healing procedure. Pastoral counseling guides the client through the process of discovery leading to a personal awareness of the root cause of his/her affliction. Through the development of a thorough understanding of the innate cause of the problem, arrived at through a gentle non-judgmental technique, the client is much better prepared to make an effective and lasting change. SpiritsWay adds an additional aspect by providing areas of concentration that can be readily accessed and reinforced by the client after the initial sessions have been completed.
