Elmo had some pretty hard times dealing with all the fame and attention Sesame Street gave him. All of the sudden it was a pure Elmo rush. People love his cute color and funny skits, but what they don't know is how he suffered mental problems while with Sesame Street. He was always high on medications and drugs. Even on the set before the shows he would pop pills. That was probably why he always had the apperence, behavior, and cluelessness of being high in his skits. His co-workers found him very heard to work with, and the directors could never get him to do what they wanted. "He would never stop saying his name! He would always go off in a spastic way, saying 'Elmo this, and Elmo that!' " said his freind and co-worker Telly! "His favorite thing to do was dance! We would go out all the time to clubs and halls just so he could dance. That Muppet could party all night long if you let him" Telly went on to say. There was also the conflict between Elmo and Grover! They couldn't even say in the same room with each other long enough to work out their problems. It was bad for all the rest of the muppets too. Grove was quoted as saying: "Too much has hapened between us to heal! Elmo didn't like me fore the beginning! I don't know what I ever did to him!"
