Welcome to my home page about what's going on in the world of fishing. I
have been fishing South Florida waterways for 11 years now, and focus
mainly on inshore and fresh water fishing but my adventures do take me
offshore from time to time. I have held a 100 ton captains license (6 pack)
for 6 years and continue to pursue the part time excitement of charter fishing. I may not posess the experience or gruff that some of the full time charter captains have, but you will find that my passion for fishing and commitment to success are second to none. My rates are not only reasonable but also negotiable. The fact remains, I want to be out there as much as you do. If you are interested in booking a peacock bass charter, feel free to contact me via e-mail at; tyson1dana@aol.com.
I fish from shore on occasion but you can usually find me aboard my 16
foot Roughneck that I have tricked out over the past 2 years. It may not
have the $25,000  price tag as other flats boats, but it sure can get the job
done. I will post reports and pictures from my most recent trips, so check in
from time to time to see what's HOT and what's not!
I target trout (the sea going kind), snook, redfish, sharks, peacock bass,
largemouth bass, jacks and just about anything else that swims, so if these
interest you, keep in touch to see what's going on.

Summer Reports: The summer time blues are now behind us and it's time to start getting into the peacock again. The summer was a good one for me, but it did not involve our friends from South America. My main target this summer was Mr. Snook. I had a great time with some days yeilding 20+ fish plus a mixed bag of trout, reds, tarpon, shark and jacks. Well, that is all behind us now and the winter focus will be back on peacocks. I chartered a fellow boat captain, Paul, from West Palm this past week. We ventured down into the Miami Airport Lakes. The good news is that there are plenty of fish to be caught right now, the bad news is we couldn't find the big boys. Despite the crumby weather conditions Paul managed 20 os so peacocks all on the fly. Not bad considering it was only his 2nd time fishing for peacocks. I'll try to keep the reports more frequent, but with the 10 month at home, it's tough to find the computer time. Tight lines.
9 year old Jeff bagged this nice peacock!

Miami Airport Lakes: The story you are about to read is NOT an April Fools joke!! I met Jack and son, Zev at the ramp around 10 am for some peacock bass action. Being from NY, they wanted to try out the South Florida action. We no sooner left the ramp when Jack tied into a fly-rod caught mini peacock. OK, looked like it might be a pretty good day....NOT!!! We made a move to try and look for some peacocks around some bridges, and then it happened!!! Zev wheeled around a back-cast and buried 4 out of a possible 6 hooks into the side of my face!! My glasses broke off (thank God I was wearing them) lense and frame, and the hooks went from my nose to the corner of my right eye. After a few tense moments I was able to remove all the hooks. Only 1 barb had made it past the surface, and I'll be damned if that 1 hook was going to ruin our day. I got cleaned up and...Oh Yea, we caught a mess of peacocks!!
More pictures coming soon!!
Snapper Creek Canal C-2: After realizing the boat ramp at Antonio Maceo Park in Miami was closed due to the holiday...(can't figure that one out, isn't that when most people get out?) we called the audible and went a little further south tho the Snapper Creek Canal system. I had never been there before so it was sort of a crap shoot. I soon hooked into a 1 pound largemouth and saw some small peacock, so my confidence sky-rocketed. As the day progressed I continued to catch the largemouth but was spooking out the peacocks. I saw some fish on the beds, but they were very spooky. Finally as I moved from lateral canal to lateral canal I started to get into the peacocks. I never found any great concentrations of them, but as the day got on, I slowly put together a decent bag. All in all I caugh 7 peacocks and 8 largemouth in 5 hours...all in the 1-2 pound range. My buddies, who met me down there caught 3 peacocks and 1 largemouth.
