Dan Moorefield
Teresa Morrison
Dan is featured on guitar, piano, bouzouki and harmonica.  His musical roots go back to County Waterford, Ireland.  He mixes his research on the history of the Irish people and their music with his life experiences as a farmer, school teacher and businessman.  He brings both music and education to libraries, schools and other venues.
 Dan also offers several services for the entertainers needs including sound for live performances and studio recording.
Teresa brings to the music instruments which include the alto recorder, Irish whistle,  tenor banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, and guitar. Teresa's family roots are deep in the Scots-Irish heritage and she feels a soul connection with the music that has crossed the ocean, the Appalacians and the generations. Teresa is the manager/agent for Up River.  She is also a booking agent for Jon Mosey. Teresa was the organizer of the  Old Time music festival Shakin' Down the Acorns held in 2004-2007 in  Holmes County Ohio. She teaches guitar, Irish whistle, mandolin and piano.
Up River will weave stories of legends and lore with tales of the music and the people who have carried it across the ocean, into the Appalachian Mts. and to you.   We perform for all types of venues and all ages with the goal of raising the consciousness of our audience to their own roots and to this wonderful music.
Our Bose amplification gives clear sound and takes much less space than traditional speaker systems. Dan can provide sound for  a variety of events.  Write us for details.
In rural Amreica, just a few generations ago, those who could make music were held in high regard in the community.  They were often called upon to liven the evenings on the front porch or by the fireplace and to play for the barn dance that was the long awaited social event of the community.
  We enjoy sharing this music at jams and festivals and now bring this experience to your audience where you can be part of the music and history.   You will hear Old Time Appalachian music and the toe tapping tunes that called many to the dance floor.  You will listen to  the melodies of 300 year old Irish tunes that were so good they are still favorites. This music appeals to audiences of all ages and is appropriate for a wide  variety of venues including festivals, community concerts and programs, weddings, men's and women's groups, campgrounds, private parties, and social, youth and senior services. When we add historical stories and tales  to the show we are a perfect fit for schools and libraries.
