On August 14, 1950, the USS Pirate (AM-275) was recommissioned at the Naval Shipyard in Yokosuka Japan with ceremonies performed by Commander Mine Squadron 3
The USS Pirate was designated as the Flag Ship of the Division under the Leadership of LCDR Bruce Hyatt, Division Commander, and Commanded by LT Corneilus McMullen
