Pup Tent 8 - "Sprung Leak"

Pup Tent 8, Sprung Leak, is headquartered at VFW Post 9103 in Spring Lake, North Carolina. It consists of about 35 members, including North Carolina's 2000-2001 Grand Commander, Colon Warren.

The Pup Tent received its charter on October 30, 1975, and has been active ever since. Members of the Pup Tent are active in the VFW at all levels, as well as in the Grand of North Carolina. We have an active hospital program that includes regular visits to the Fayetteville Veterans Administration Hospital, upholding the MOC motto, "Keep 'em smiling in beds of white."

We also have a project within the Pup Tent. Through donations and fundraisers, our goal is to have every active Cootie in the Pup Tent become a Life Member of the VFW National Home in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. So far we have purchased more than a dozen Life Memberships, and the project is continuing.

Our scratches are held on the third Sunday of every month at 2 p.m., and we usually serve a meal afterwards for a small donation. All Cooties, no matter what Pup Tent or Grand they are affiliated with, are invited to attend.
