In a scene eerily reminiscent of another
sneak attack that happened almost 60 years ago, American citizens
again died at the hands of an enemy who gave no warning, who
attacked without declaration of war and without provocation,
and who desecrated our sovereign soil with the blood of innocents.

This time as before, the enemy crept
into this great land undetected and wreaked havoc. They came
by air as the last attackers did, swift and deadly, unleashing
their terror upon this country and leaving behind a legacy of
infamy that will never be forgotten.

But that enemy of 60 years ago quickly
realized they had awakened a sleeping giant, a giant that pursued
them relentlessy halfway around the world, fighting unceasingly
until the enemy was finally broken and defeated. We didn't forget
December 7, 1941, just as we will not forget September 11, 2001!

Ours hearts and prayers go out to the
families of those killed and injured by these cowardly attacks,
and especially to the firefighters and police officers who gave
their lives trying to save their fellow citizens. They will always
be remembered as heroes in the truest sense of the word.

To those who perpetrated these heinous
acts against the United States of America, be prepared, for you
too have awakened this sleeping giant.

And we will not forget!
