ABOUT N5VL I was first licensed in 1960 as WV2RHP and in 1961 became W5IJU which I held until 1997 when I became N5VL. I am active on IOTA and am a resident of IOTA NA138. I am active mostly on CW and operate on 40 and 20 meters most of the time. While operating as E30GA, I made the only Satellite contact ever made from Eritrea. I have held the following callsigns and operated from these locations: HL9UB, VP2EEU, VP2MBU, DL4BW, DL4IJ, DL4LV, E30FA, W5IJU/KP1, /6Y5, CY9, CY9A, also hold and have operated 4 times as KG4VL. My station consists of the following an Yaesu FT 890A, Ameritron 80A, and a 10 element Sommer 706 antenna with an 80 meter Carolina Windom used for the low bands and MARS also the CAP systems. I have at the present time 313 countries confirmed 318 worked. I am a memeber of the Florida DXpedition group and the South Sandwich Island DXpedition Group. I have been a member of ARRL for more than 25 years and a member of the QCWA. I am the QSL Manager for 9N1HA I have logs from September1998 to Oct 2002 and have been trying to get later ones sent to me, UT5IM, UT2IWL, E30FA, KG4VL, J6J and CY9A. I also have the logs and some cards for E30GA. |

UPCOMING DXPEDITION I will be going to Dominica in October with the Florida DXpedition Group this will be for the CQWW Contest. We will arrive on the 26th and depart on Nov 2nd. I have requested the following callsign J79VL and will be doing my own QSLing. I hope to work you during my stay in Dominica. Contest call will be J75J QSL route will be determined at a later date.

2003 CY9A DXPEDITION This DXpedition was held from July 25, 2003 through August 2, 2003. A total of 17,000 QSOs were made by the 6 operators on 160 through 6 meters. The six operators were K5AB, K5AAH, VE7SV, N0RN, KO4RR the Team Leader N5VL. During the IOTA Contest N5VL was entered in the Contest. All QSLs were handled by N5VL and at the present time all direct cards have been answered. |

IOTA NA-197 FOX ISLAND ALASKA I will be operating from Fox Island on August 19 and 20th 2005 as W2MM/KL7 this will be with QCWA. More will follow about his operation as it is put together.
