April was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder (Histiocytosis) just after her 1st birthday. She had multiple lymph node involvement, scalp rash, bad diaper rash, trouble breathing (possible lung involvement) & developed Diabetes Insipidus. She went through 2 different rounds of Chemotherapy. Vinblastine & Methlyprednisone then Vinblastine & high dose short term liquid Prednisone. April is now 12 & has been in remission since 12/20/94. She is fine now other than the Diabetes Insipidus which she will always have she takes DDAVP pills & spray to control it. I would like to thank the Histiocytosis Association & the Great team of Dr.s & Nurses at the University of Mississippi Childrens Medical Center for all they have done for us.
