1999 Ships Reunion
For the past twenty years, the crew of the USS Waller get together and have a reunion. Every 2 years. years they get together in such places as New Orleans, Seattle, New York, Pittsburgh and this year the reunion was held in Virginia Beach.What do we do? Well, we sit around and tell sea stories, laugh and cry, and just remember the good times and also remember the bad times. We remember our old shipmates and toast them from time to time. To make the wives happy, we take them on tours and shopping. This year, we visited Colonial Williamsburg, took a short dinner cruise and visited the Naval Base.
The host this year was Jim and Wadene Howell from North Charleston South Carolina. Jim and Wadene did a wonderful job putting the reunion together and I regret to say, I did not get a picture for this web site. But..... I did get a shot of Jims ball cap which he wore proudly each and every day of the reunion.
The 2001 reunion will be held in Cleveland Ohio. The host in 2001 will be:
